Camel Gesso white is the primer for canvases on which acrylic or oil has to be painted. The gesso forms a binding layer to which the paint adheres.

Then of what use is a Gesso?

• Several uses. First if u need to erase an existing painting, apply a layer of gesso liberally on the painted area. Now the canvas is as good as new
• If you are into detailed oil or acrylic work, such as portraits etc; then your canvas has to be ultra fine. Instead you can apply an extra coat of gesso on the existing surface. Leave it to dry and sandpaper it with a fine sand paper, shaking off the dust.
